Mississauga, ON – The Synaxis of Serbian Saints, Serbian Orthodox Church in Mississauga, Ontario, Celebrated The Parish’s Patronal Feast on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

In the church, in the presence of a large number of parishioners, the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy was served by the Diocesan Bishop, His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN. Clergy concelebrating with His Grace was the Dean of the Synaxis of Serbian Saints Church -Archpriest Dejan Obradović  and Archpriest Staurophore Milojko Dimitrić, Archpriest Zlatibor Đurašević and Diocesan Deacon Duško Marković.

The Divine Liturgy was enhanced by the beautiful singing of Dragana Stošić and Jovan Papić, as well as other singers of this temple. Following the Divine Liturgy; the Slava Kolac and Koljivo were blessed in the Church by His Grace Bishop MITROPHAN. Kumovi for this occasion were President Church Jovo Miskin with his wife and their family.  Sreto and Snezana Petric volunteered to be our Church Slava Kumovi for the next 2021 year.

In His sermon, the Bishop MITROPHAN strengthened the faithful in the Orthodox faith through the meaning of the Gospel message about the kingdom of heaven. His Grace explained Christ's story about the wedding and the guests about the wedding spirit. In the explanation, His Grace spoke of the meaning of our Serbian saints who were light to the whole world.

Unfortunately, due to KOVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to have agape or Slava banquet in our Serbian center.

In this joyful and blessed day of the Assembly of Serb Saints, which we all celebrated together through the Holy Liturgy in communion with our Bishop and faithful people, a new spiritual strength was introduced to preserve our Orthodox faith, calling everyone to be "light to the world" through our Christian virtues.
