Visit and Lecture by Fr. Milos Vesin in Calgary
On Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28, 2026, before the Fifth Sunday of Lent, retired Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Milos Vesin, with the blessing of Metropolitan Mitrofan of Canada, visited one of the northernmost parishes of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada – the Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Bearer Church in Calgary.
On Friday, after the Akathist, a lecture was held on the topic: “Great Lent as a School of Humility, Patience and Love”. On Saturday, Fr. Milos served the Holy Liturgy in the church together with the parish priest of Calgary Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Obrad Filipovic.
The Serbian community in Calgary, although small in number, has built a beautiful and truly monumental church, which is now being prepared for fresco painting.
