High Distinction from Serbian Orthodox Church for Saint Sava Choir in Mississauga
At last night's spiritual music concert held at the the Assembly of Serbian Saints Church in Mississauga, the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, with His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije at the helm and at the proposal of His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Mitrofan, awarded the Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Choir operating at this church a high decoration of the Serbian Orthodox Church – the Order of Saint Despot Stefan Lazarevic – in recognition of its exceptional contribution to the liturgical life of the Church during its 70 years of existence by glorifying the Lord through the beauty of church singing, as well as for the preservation and nurturing of the spiritual musical tradition and Serbian folk songs.
On that occasion, the members of the choir expressed their most sincere gratitude for the honour bestowed upon them, as well as their gratitude to everyone who enriched the concert with their presence.
