Fourth Sunday of Lent in Waterloo
Yesterday, on the fourth Sunday of Great Lent, dedicated to Saint John Climacus, the faithful at the Holy Great Martyr George Church in Waterloo had the honour and joy of hosting retired Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Milos Vesin and retired Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Prvoslav Puric, who, together with the local parish priest Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Dusan Gnjatic, celebrated the Holy Liturgy.
The Holy Liturgy took place in the prayerful joy and spiritual gathering of a large number of faithful, with a harmonious and inspired response from the choir, which contributed to the beauty of the liturgical gathering. A special joy was given to this Eucharistic gathering by the fact that a large number of believers partook of the Holy Mysteries, uniting with the Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
After the Holy Liturgy, there was an agape feast, followed by a spiritual lecture by Fr. Milos on the topic of the holiness of the Church and our life in it. In his presentation, Fr. Milos pointed out the importance of understanding the mystery of the Church as the Body of Christ, in which, despite our weaknesses, we are sanctified and saved.
The lecture took place in a thoughtful and warm atmosphere, and the faithful present gratefully received the teachings and spiritual guidance that were given to us for our spiritual life in the Church.
We are grateful to God for this blessed gathering and are joyful that we had the opportunity to host dear guests in our lively liturgical and Eucharistic community. We especially thank Fr. Milos for his inspired words, spiritual teachings and brotherly love that he shared with our community, with the prayerful desire that the Lord will strengthen him in his further pastoral and theological ministry.
