Kyr Stefan the Serb Choir Holds Successful Concert in Serbia

The Kyr Stefan the Serb Choir from Toronto, the choir of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, held a concert tour in Serbia called Putevima molitve (On the Paths of Prayer) from July 7 to 11, 2026.

Since 2000, under the leadership of conductor Ms. Jasmina Vucurovic and choir president Mr. Milan Dimitrijevic, the choir has been operating at the Saint Sava Church in Toronto and is one of the most important Serbian choirs in the diaspora. After twenty-three years, the choir again toured Serbia in order to connect the Serbian diaspora with its homeland through spiritual music. The tour took place with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Mitrofan and the bishops in whose dioceses the concerts were held.

The concerts were held at the Holy Father Nicholas Cathedral Church in Sremski Karlovci on July 7, the Three Holy Hierarchs Church in Novi Sad on July 8, the Holy Great Martyr George Church in Oplenac on July 9, and finally in the crypt of the Saint Sava Church in Belgrade on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

The concert in the crypt of the Saint Sava Church in Belgrade was organized with the blessing of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, and organized by the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada and the Saint Sava Church in Toronto. Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy a program composed of spiritual compositions of the Orthodox musical tradition, which, with their prayerful and artistic content, contributed to the solemn atmosphere and spiritual experience of the gathering. The concert brought together numerous lovers of sacred music, among whom were His Grace Bishop Emeritus of Canada Georgije, the brotherhood of the church, as well as numerous believers, families, children, friends and admirers of sacred and choral music, who filled the crypt of the church.
