Vidovdan Celebrated in Niagara Falls
This year's celebration of Vidovdan (Saint Vitus Day) at Saint George Church in Niagara Falls was one of the most attended in the last twenty years. The liturgical celebration was led by Protopresbyter Jovica Cetkovic (dean of the Saint Sava Church in Toronto), and concelebrated by Fr. Milorad Delic (Windsor Gracanica Church) and Fr. Marko Dimić (Saint Petka Church in Lakeshore), as well as the local parish priest Fr. Stanko Antic.
The widely known Serbian Day in Niagara celebrated its 81st birthday, and its celebration was graced with the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Filip and Princess Danica Karadjordjevic, along with their children, Prince Stefan and Princess Marija.
At the Holy Liturgy, the church choir gave a special touch with its beautiful singing, and the people of God who filled the church gave the full meaning to the liturgical gathering of the community in Christ. The parishioners of Niagara, with their selfless work, helped to celebrate this holiday with dignity and in love for one another this year.
May Holy Prince Lazar and all Serbian martyrs and new martyrs strengthen us and give us the strength to overcome the daily challenges that life abroad poses before us and to emerge with our heads held high as victors in the battle between good and evil.
We thank Ms. Marija Vecanski for providing us with photos which can be viewed HERE.
