Prayerful Farewell of Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zivorad Subotic

Prayerful Farewell of Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zivorad Subotic

On Holy Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zivorad Subotic, the diocesan deputy of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, who reposed on March 30, 2026, was buried.

The priestly funeral service at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton, over the body of Fr. Zivorad of blessed repose, was served by His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Mitrofan and His Grace Bishop Emeritus Georgije, with the concelebration of numerous clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada.

The prayerful gathering was also attended by the faithful, mostly from Montreal, where Fr. Zivorad faithfully served God and his people for many years, who gathered to bid farewell to their priest.

After the funeral service, the body of Fr. Zivorad was buried in the monastery cemetery, in the clergy section (plot number 140), next to his beloved wife, Presbytera Sara. Fr. Zivorad served with great pastoral love and sacrifice until the last day of his earthly life, and was recognizable by his cheerful spirit with which he showered everyone he met. We pray that the Lord God will rest his soul where the righteous rest and grant his loved ones comfort and strength. Eternal memory!
