Third Annual Serbian Days in Winnipeg Successfully Held

Article by Fr. Georgije Tubonjic

With great joy and gratitude to God, we announce that the third annual Serbian Days in Winnipeg, held at Saint Sava Church, took place in a spirit of unity, faith and love for Serbian tradition – despite the unfavourable weather conditions that accompanied this significant event.

The program began solemnly with the Holy Liturgy, celebrated by parish priest Fr. Georgije Tubonjic, in the presence of members of the church community and numerous believers. The temple was filled with prayer, singing and the joy of gathering in the name of the Lord.

After the liturgy, a festive academy followed, during which folklore groups, children's choirs and individuals performed, conjuring up the richness of Serbian culture and heritage. The youngest participants attracted special attention as they won the hearts of all present with their immediacy and warmth.

Although the weather was rainy, this did not diminish the joy or response of the faithful. On the contrary – people came smiling, warm-hearted and full of enthusiasm. Songs, laughter and joy could be heard from all sides. A shared lunch, prepared thanks to the efforts of numerous volunteers, complemented the feeling of brotherly closeness and Serbian hospitality.

We extend special gratitude to everyone who participated in the organization of this great event — the members of the Church Board, volunteers, cooks, donors, program performers, and all the believers present. Without your dedication, this holiday would not be possible.

The third Serbian Days in Winnipeg were more than an event — they were a testimony to a living faith, a preserved identity, and a strong community. May the Lord grant us the strength and grace to continue such gatherings in the years to come — for the glory of God and for the benefit of our people.
