Slava of Circle of Serbian Sisters Celebrated at Saint Petka Church in Lakeshore

On Sunday September 21, the 15th of Pentecost, when our Holy Church celebrates the great feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, a solemn Divine Liturgy was served in the Saint Petka Church in Lakeshore. This feast is also the feast (Slava) of the Circle of Serbian Sisters at this parish, so the joy was all the greater because the prayerful gathering was also attended by sisters from the Windsor parishes – Gracanica, Saint Dimitrije, as well as sisters from the Saint Nicholas Church (MOC), as well as sisters from the Saint Sava Church in London.

After the communion of the faithful, the consecration and blessing of the Slava gifts were performed. The godmother of this year's Slava was sister Ruzica Mihajlo, while the godmothership in the following year was lovingly accepted by sister Rada Jeftic.

The service was followed by a festive celebratory lunch, during which the parish priest, Fr. Marko Dimic, gratefully expressed words of admiration and gratitude to all the sisters for their selfless effort, love, and dedication with which they serve their Church and their community.
