Palm Sunday in Lakeshore Celebrated with Holy Hierarchical Liturgy
The Feast of the Entrance of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem – Palm Sunday – was solemnly celebrated on April 5, 2026, at the Saint Petka Church in Lakeshore.
The Holy Hierarchical Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Mitrofan, with the concelebration of the retired Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Miroljub Todorovic, parish priest Fr. Marko Dimic, and diocesan deacon Petar Marjanovic.
Before the beginning of the Holy Liturgy, the Metropolitan ordained to the rank of reader Petar Spanovic who has zealously assisted the clergy at the altar since his earliest childhood, demonstrating his love and dedication to the Church.
After the communion of the faithful, willow branches were blessed, and then the Metropolitan addressed the gathered people with an appropriate archpastoral homily.
At the conclusion of the service, Fr. Marko, on behalf of the parish, thanked the Metropolitan for his pastoral visit and prayerful fellowship. The celebration continued in the parish hall, where a feast of love was prepared in the spirit of joy and Christian unity.
